Tarantulas are native to this area and are found in the ground.  These dwellings are called burrows.  They can live up to 30 years in the wild.  Tarantulas are often seen migrating during October when it cools down to mate.  They are harmless to humans and the town of Coarsegold even holds a Tarantula festival in October.
